The location of Ambarnath is marked with a red star.  It's located between the cities of Kalyan and Ulhasnagar in the Thane district of Maharashtra state in western India.  Ambarnath is about 60 km (36 miles) from Mumbai (Bombay), the largest city in India with 18 million inhabitants.  The shaded area on the India map is Maharashtra state.
